Unique Friendship Fruits Make Unique Seeds

How to Measure Friends By Seeds That Keep Producing

I hate weeds.

Years of pulling weeds in vegetable gardens and flower beds do not increase my love for succulents, grass, or any other type of weed. I admit that familiarity with the pesky, choking, harmful nature of weeds breeds something close to contempt in my gut. I pull weeds to help the other plants I love like rice, beans, cashews, mangoes, pineapple, millet, tomatoes, onions, and many others grow.

What fruits and seeds are you making with your friends and other people you know?

All of us have some weedy relationships that choke the life out of us. That guy who smothers you too much. People who inflate their personalities all the time sucking oxygen out of the room. Needy people who take more of your relationship batteries than they can recharge.

Great friends make seeds and fruit that feed your soul. Think about the production of your friendship

  • The fruit of your friendship is healthy.

  • When you see each other seeds of past shared experiences quickly take root in conversation and plans.

  • Seeds can lie untouched for days, months, and years and germinate in an instant when you connect with your friend.

  • You like the fruit of your friendship. It’s not just healthy and good for you, but it's enjoyable; maybe even tasty.

  • Your friendship feels cultivated and managed by two gardeners. You don’t run out of control or overtake each other.

Fruitful friendships make great seeds for good friends to enjoy in the future.
