New Friend and New Hobby

Men in Western cultures connect by doing things together.

I know some who read this newsletter already play golf, eat, cook, and play card games to connect with other men. I also “do stuff” like other guys with my Ghanaian friends like eat, play games, and visit other people.

What if we go one step further?

Make a new friend with a new hobby.

Every guy reading this newsletter needs a new friend. All of us have friends who are getting older, could move away, and have busy lives. Our friendship situation can always change.

Every guy reading this newsletter needs a new hobby. Why? Learning stimulates our brain, we need to expand our likes and dislikes, and we need activities where we just love doing the thing and not worry about the outcome.

Two Ways To Approach This Challenge

If you would like to start a new hobby, think about doing it with someone. Preferably, someone you don’t know all that well.

On the flip side, if there is someone you would like to know better, suggest trying a new hobby just to try it out.

Two Ways Out

If the hobby turns into frustration, just stop.

If the guy you are hanging out with turns out to be a low-quality friend, just stop.
